The Weinviertel characterizes the agricultural landscape of Lower Austria. The largest wine-growing region of Austria is also home to a quarter of all pig farms that are a part of the Genuss Region catalog. Pig farmers have been farming for over 3,000 years. The fertile agricultural area yields perfect fodder for the pigs.
