Styrian Sauvignon Blanc and Sattlerhof are inseparable. Wilhelm Sattler sen. was one of the quality pioneers of the early 70s. His son, Willi Sattler Junior, built the Gamlitzer operation into one of the leading wineries in Austria. The Sauvignons have become especially popular over the last 30 years due to many high profile tastings. Nationally and internationally, they are one the most recognized and rarest representatives of their kind.
This wine can be counted among the best wines of 2014 and is wonderfully juicy and well balanced.
The wine smells like tomato vines and parsley. When you swirl the vine in the glass, notes of tropical fruit start to make their way to your nose. Mango, lychee, white asparagus and vineyard peaches greet your senses.
On the palate, you immediately sense the seriousness of the wine. It is textured, juicy and complex. The acidity is mature and elegant.
Pairs well with: risotto with seafood or delicately spiced Asian appetizers.
