It's Apricot Season!

We're right in the middle of the harvest time for apricots! Learn more about these special treats here!

Apricots are harvested every year in July and August in Austria. Despite this relatively short season, this classic summer fruit has a lot to offer.

Top Highlights:

  • Healthy properties
    Apricots contain beta carotene, which gives the apricots their typical color. The body converts beta carotene into vitamin A. This makes apricots a treat for the eyes, because vitamin A is good for your vision.  In addition, apricots contain vitamin C and minerals such as calcium, magnesium and iron.
  • Supports for natural beauty
    Apricots are rich in antioxidants, which fight free radicals in the body. These radicals damage our cells and contribute to the aging process of the skin.
  • Plenty of water, low in calories
    Apricots are one of the fruits with the highest water content. In the summer that is extra important since we lose a lot of liquid through sweat when it's hot out. Apricots can be an additional water source! They are also low in calories. 100 grams of fruit have an average 143 kcal. For comparison: A banana has about twice as many calories.
  • Support for the thyroid gland
    Thanks to the low iodine content of this fruit, apricots are well suited for people with an overactive thyroid gland.
